Giving Thanks

This month i am trying to be more grateful for the MANY thing that I have been blessed with, and as such have made it a point to share one thing I am thankful for everyday. However after running into a former class mate from years back and coming across her blog, which is amazing and I think all of you should read, I realized that my "thanks" shouldn't just be a once a year thing.

During these first few days of my "thanksgiving" I have realized there are so many things in my day to day life that I take for granted, and to be quite frank we all take for granted. How many of us complain about traffic, the long lines in the store or the slow internet speed, ect. Have you ever stopped to think... "wow its a miracle that I don't have to walk the entire way, or that I can run to the store and grab a few items as opposed to growing or making them myself and isn't it amazing that I can reconnect with friends from years back at the click of a button". I know I don't, but my goal is to start being more thankful for all the little things in life, because when I think about it they really aren't 'little' things. The fact is that even just being able to breath, walk, talk, be alive is a blessing, that I, all to quickly forget about.

Thanksgiving and the Christmas are great times of the year to show gratitude for what we have been given but why not everyday? That's my goal, to not just be thankful this one time a year but to be thankful all year round for everything that I have been blessed with. My opportunities, freedom, faith, loved ones, and being alive and able to witness all the miracles, opportunities, and blessings life has to offer.

Somethings I am thankful for:
Family, where would I be without their support and love
Friends, and really this should be lumped with family because that's what they are to me.
The University of Utah, in my opinion the best school in the world and the one I have the opportunity to attend.
My job, it might not seem like much but when students come in and say the only reason they passed a class was because of one of the tutors I feel like my time is well spent.
My testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ.
